Ethereum: A decentralized software platform for people and things

by Alexander Hirner

Ethereum is a software stack that enables trustless p2p computing: messaging, contracts and storage with an inbuilt layer of monetization. After its inception in early 2014 it reinvigorated the crypto scene and IBM just recently endorsed it as an experimentation testbed for future IoT services. In this talk I cover the basics of how and why the software stack functions and its possible impact on IoT business models. (Project Site), (Vienna Meetup Group)
